Wood, 30, born in South Carolina. In the 1860 census, Caleb is still living in Jackson, Georgia. He is 56, a farmer, with real estate worth $2,000 and personal estate worth $6,000. He was reported absent sick in November 1862 at Glasco, Kentucky and appears on a list of paroled prisoners captured in Kentucky during September, October, and November 1862 who were sent to General Bragg and placed in Camp at Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was wounded at Missionary Ridge on November 25, 1863 and was sent to the hospital on the same day. He was promoted to Corporal subsequent to January – February 1864. Source: John T. Mr. Davis suffered a heart attack and was taken to the hospital where he died within a short time. Final rites for the resident of Doerun Route 2 will be held at 4 P.M. Wednesday at the New Elm Baptist Church. Rev. Artie Patterson, pastor, will officiate and interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Mr. Davis, a farmer, was a native of Madison, Ga.
