- Jacob enlisted as a Private in Company C (also known as Company I), Phillips’ Legion (Georgia) at the age of 22 on August 2, 1861 at Camp McDonald. This Company was known as the Cherokee Dragoons. Valuation of horse and equipment $125 and $30, respectively. Promoted to 3rd Corporal prior to September 1, 1863.
Court Marshaled on December 7, 1864. Charge: Disobedience of orders Finding: Guilty
