  Died at age 56 years, 9 months, 21 days. ----------------------------- Mrs C. L. Davis Called by Death Early Thursday Final rites will be held at 11 a. m. Friday for Mrs. C. L. Davis, 56, who passed away about 4 p. m., Thursday at a local hospita The Rev. Mr. Patterson, pastor of the New Elm Baptist Church where funeral services will be held, will be in charge of the rites. Interment will be in New Elm cemetery. Mrs. Davis, the former Miss Mattie Belle Gunnels of Madison County, Ga., was ill several months before her death. She suffered a stroke about a week ago and was brought to a local hospital, where the end came. A resident of Doerun Route 3 for the past 11 years., Mrs. Davis was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Gunnels, of Madison county. She was born in that county February 10, 1893. She was a member of the Union Baptist Church in Madison. Survivors include her husband; six sons, Lovic Davis of Atlanta, and Walter, Harold, C. L. Jr., Washington and H. B. Davis, all of the Doerun section; Mrs. Callie Carver of Doerun and Mrs. Frances Burnham of Albany; one sister, Mrs. Cora Griffith of Danielsville, Ga; and 15 grandchildren.
