• Notes

  AARON, MONROE, a son of Francis Marion and Mary (Mayberry) Aaron, was born near Williams' Mill, Walker County on August 2, 1878. Educated in the public schools of the county, he worked first in a sawmill, later as a coal miner, and then entered the mercantile business in Dora, AL which he operated until 1910. Mr. Aaron then developed and operated a successful coal mine near Cordova and subsequently became interested in the Citizens Bank and Trust Company of Cordova, and served as its first president.
